We'll organise the collection and repair/replacement of any defective or damaged items covered by our warranty, addressing any errors on our part at no extra charge to you. For details on what our warranty covers, please refer to the "Warranty" section below.

Warranty

We stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of our jewellery and offer a complimentary 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects on all our jewellery purchases. Please note that specific conditions apply to Special Occasion rings, as detailed below in this Warranty section. If you experience damage to your new jewellery due to manufacturing defects, please contact us so we can evaluate your piece. We may request photos and/or a short video, and a description of how the damage occurred. If we find the damage is not deemed a manufacturing defect via the provided images, we may not accept the item back for an evaluation. Instead, we will propose a repair option based on our price list.

Should we agree to review your item for manufacturing defects, Finer will coordinate the collection at no extra charge to you. Based on your location, you will receive instructions on how to return it to us.

Upon receiving the jewellery, our Quality Control Team will determine if the damage is warranted. Damage that is not deemed a manufacturing defect but is repairable will have a repair fee quoted to the customer for approval before any work is performed. If the customer chooses not to perform the repair, they will be responsible for the shipping fee incurred for the return of the item.

Our manufacturing warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, deformed chains/rings, product loss, as well as jewellery damaged due to improper use, cleaning or storage.
  • Consequential or incidental damages as a result of the above.

Because we stand behind our designs and our jewellers, any third-party or outside jeweller altering or servicing your jewellery will void your warranty with us.

Complimentary gifts cannot be exchanged or returned for a refund and will not be replaced if misplaced, lost, or stolen. These items are not covered by our warranty and cannot be repaired through Finer.

For specific warranty information about our Special Occasion Rings and Diamonds, please see below.

Finer guarantees that our Special Occasion rings are free from manufacturing defects and includes a complimentary 4-year warranty.

If you experience damage to your ring due to manufacturing defects, please contact us so we can evaluate your piece. We may request photos and/or a short video, and a description of how the damage occurred. If we find the damage is not deemed a manufacturing defect via the provided images, we will offer you a repair according to our price list.

If the customer chooses not to perform the repair, Finer will send back the ring to the customer free of charge.

Manufacturing defects can include missing pavestones or stones up to 0.2 ct, loose prongs, or incorrect engraving. As each ring is made-to-order and crafted by hand, slight variations in each ring are to be expected and are not viewed as a defect.

Warranty not applicable:

This warranty does not apply to the replacement of a centre stone or any stone larger than 0.2ct. Manufacturing defects do not include general wear and tear, scratching, discolouration due to contact with harsh liquids or chemicals, distorted rings, lost rings/centre stones, or jewellery damaged due to improper use, cleaning, or storage.

Because we stand behind our designs and our jewellers, any third-party or outside jeweller altering or servicing your jewellery will void your warranty with us.

For the warranty of our lab-grown diamonds, see below.

We are proud to offer a lifetime warranty for all of our sustainably created diamonds. We guarantee our listed gradings of our created diamonds to be accurate and warrant their graded characteristics. In the unlikely case that your diamond turns out to not meet or exceed a characteristic promised, we will replace the diamond with a diamond that meets or exceeds each of the characteristics warranted.

The condition of the diamond will be determined by examination by standard gemological techniques. The accuracy of angles and linear measurements will be determined by the following tolerances: ±0.2º and ±0.02 millimetres.

If you decide to grade your diamond on your own, please note that diamonds must be graded as loose stones and cannot be set in engagement rings and then graded, as settings can be obtrusive. A well-trusted facility such as GCAL, IGI or GIA must grade the stone, and not a local jeweler in order for it to have relevancy.

Should you make a claim under this warranty, you allow us to inspect the diamond and any gemological evaluation on which you base your claim, and try and resolve your claim amicably.

To be able to claim this warranty, the diamonds must not be exposed to unreasonable force or harmful conditions.

This warranty does not apply to products that have been stored or handled incorrectly, abused, altered, treated with the wrong cleaning methods. The warranty does not cover normal wear & tear, cuts or scratches; consequential or incidental damages.

Customised Jewellery

Absolutely. Customised work tailored for individual customers is our specialty. All our Special Occasion jewellery is exclusively handcrafted by skilled goldsmiths at our factory in Hong Kong, taking 4-5 weeks to complete and deliver.

Yes, every Special Occasion ring with a diamond of 0.3 ct or larger comes with a complimentary IGI® certificate, which gives a full assessment of the diamond quality and authenticates the characteristics (including cut, color, clarity, and carat weight). The IGI® certificate is unique to each individual diamond and must accompany the ring if returned.

The International Gemological Institute (IGI) is a leading third party diamond grading organization. It provides a thorough assessment of a diamond's quality, including cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. Each IGI certificate is unique to your diamond and provides a diamond identification number that is laser-inscribed in your diamond. Learn more about IGI here.

When ordering a Special Occasion ring from us, you can choose to engrave the ring with up to 20 characters at no additional cost. It's important to note that the engraving itself is non-refundable. If adjustments are required or if you choose to return or exchange the ring, a restoration fee of approximately $100 will apply. Alternatively, you can choose to add engraving as a separate step after the initial delivery. This option incurs an additional cost, covering the shipping of the ring to our factory for the engraving process.

Size & Fit

Not sure about your ring size? We highly recommend ordering a ring sizer before purchasing a Finer ring, and we'll send you one by post. Use it to measure your finger for the perfect fit. Once you have your size, proceed to order your desired ring.

For other ways to determine your ring size, we recommend visiting a local jeweller.

Please keep in mind that your ring size can fluctuate about a half size based on your temperature, hydration levels, hormones, etc. If the ring is a gift for someone else, we recommend using a favourite ring worn on the same finger as a reference and following our Ring Sizing Chart to measure it yourself.

For additional guidance on ring-sizing, we refer to our comprehensive Ring Sizing Guide.

If you're still unsure about your ring size, feel free to contact us. We'll gladly assist you.

The majority of our ring sizes can be found on our website. However, we offer complimentary size options upon request, so don't hesitate to contact us if you wish to have a ring crafted in a different size. Customised sizes are not eligible for return or exchange.

The majority of our rings can be resized either one full size up or down. To start the resizing process, please contact us with your order number and the desired size. Our team will assess the feasibility of the resize and guide you through the next steps, including providing a cost estimate for the service.

For Special Occasion Rings, we provide one complimentary resizing within the 60-day exchange and return period.

Please note that some styles are not possible to resize, for example, infinity bands or bands with patterns, facets or diamonds.

Necklaces:

Our necklaces and bracelets are available in standard lengths, while certain designs offer various length options. If you require a specific length tailored for you, we can accommodate this for an additional quoted fee. Simply contact us with your desired length before placing your order. Please note that customised jewellery is considered a final sale, and therefore, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges for these items.

Alterations after delivery:

Should you require adjustments after having received your piece, please contact our team with your request and order number. We'll gladly provide you with a quote for the additional cost to make the necessary alterations.

Store & Showroom

We made a deliberate choice to sell through our website only; this is how we're able to sell luxury-quality products at a fraction of the price of traditional luxury brands and reduce our carbon footprint. We also offset 100% of our carbon emissions from deliveries and manufacturing with zero cost to you.

Yes indeed! Our jewellery experts are available to assist you Mon - Sun, 08:00 - 20:00, Sydney NSW (GMT+11). During your appointment, you will be able to explore our jewellery designs, get advice on how to mix and style the jewellery and learn about our materials and story.

Absolutely! We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. That's why we offer a 30-day return and exchange policy. You have a full month to try out your jewelry, and if for any reason you're not completely happy with it, you can return or exchange it within that timeframe.

Materials & Craftsmanship

We exclusively use high-quality, low-impact materials. That means 100% recycled 14 and 18-karat solid gold, lab-grown diamonds and gemstones, as well as ethically sourced pearls.

Gold is most often classified by a numerical value, i.e. the percentage of pure gold your jewelry contains, followed by ‘k’ for karat. The purest form of gold is 24k, which is too soft and malleable to use for jewelry. Because of this, alloys are mixed in to give the material strength and structure. When gold constitutes 37.5% or more of the total mixture, the resulting material is referred to as "solid gold".

White gold is not found in nature, it’s an alloy (mixture) of gold and other metals that will make the gold white. Typically, Palladium is added to gold to achieve this effect, and at Finer, we incorporate up to 17% Palladium in our white gold jewelry. Rest assured, all our jewelry is completely nickel-free.

As a final touch in the crafting process of white gold jewelry, the jewelry is being dipped in rhodium, giving them a brilliant, chrome-like color, while also protecting them from scratching. To maintain this radiant whiteness, periodic "re-dipping" is recommended – a simple upkeep.

According to the Gold Standard Institute, there is already more gold circulating above Earth than we will ever find in current or new mines. So rather than pollute unnecessarily by mining for gold, we use only recycled gold to help protect our planet. A really good thing is that gold can be recycled over and over without affecting the quality.

Recycled gold is not cheaper than freshly mined gold, as the price of gold is set based on market value.

At Finer, we don’t see the point in destroying our nature by extracting something from underground that today's modern technology can create in laboratories without the human and environmental toll. In addition, lab-grown diamonds are consistently higher in quality and purity than mined diamonds since the environment to produce them is precisely controlled.

Yes, lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds and identical in chemical and physical composition to mined diamonds. Not even an expert gemologist is able to tell a lab-grown diamond apart from a mined one. Learn more about the various qualities of a diamond here.

Care & Preservation

Our jewelry is designed to last forever. That's why we feel confident in offering you a complimentary warranty against manufacturing defects on all our jewellery purchases, as further detailed under the Warranty section. However, even something as strong as gold and diamonds needs a bit of your attention and care. We therefore recommend that you always keep your jewellery stored separately in fabric-lined pouches or boxes to avoid spinning and scratches. Avoid contact with perfumes, chlorine, lotions, hairspray, cosmetics, detergents and other chemicals as this may affect the colour or luster. This may especially affect pearls. Be careful when wearing your chains; try not to get stuck with them or pull them. Even though our jewellery, made of solid gold, isn't affected by water, we recommend removing it when bathing, exercising, doing housework, etc., to avoid bending, scratching or losing it. Avoid storing diamonds together, as they can scratch each other.

Keeping your jewellery sparkling at home is quite easy. Start by filling a bowl with lukewarm water and a dash of gentle cleaning soap (such as dishwashing soap). Let your jewellery soak for about 30 minutes and then delicately brush it with a soft, unused toothbrush. Afterwards, air dry or gently pat your piece with a soft cloth. This gentle cleaning routine works wonders for cleaning gold, gemstone, pearl, and diamond jewellery. Please be aware that cotton is moisture-absorbing and could dry out and damage your pearls. So for these gems, we recommend using microfiber.

Yes, all our pieces are crafted from solid 14K and 18K gold, making them safe to wear in water. Water will not damage the metal, nor will the pieces discolour. However, for extra precaution (to not lose it etc.), we do recommend removing the jewellery during high-intense activities such as water activities, exercising, or doing housework to prevent potential bending, scratching, or loss.

Pure gold maintains its colour and does not fade over time. At Finer, we use 14k (58% gold) and 18k (75% gold) mixed with metals such as copper, silver, and zinc for added strength. Our jewellery retains its colour as the gold is evenly distributed throughout.

Our white gold is a mix of the metals gold, silver, palladium, and zinc. It is then plated with rhodium to enhance its shine and white luster. Over time, rhodium plating on white gold subtly fades and may reveal a subtle hint of the natural gold hue. Regular rhodium re-dipping is therefore recommended as a standard international practice for all white gold jewellery.

Please remember that your Finer jewellery comes with a generous warranty. This means that if your jewellery breaks during the warranty period (and this is not caused by negligence) we will repair it for you at no additional cost. Just contact us here and we will take care of it straightaway.
